This Privacy Policy describes how Bore-ON ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Bore-ON website at bore-on.com and the Bore-ON mobile apps for Android and iOS (together, the "Services"). Bore-ON is a work-management tool used by underground construction companies; most users access it through an account created by their employer.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. Name, email address, phone number, role, and company, provided when you or your employer creates your account.
Location information. With your permission, the Services collect precise GPS location when you log field work (for example, documenting installed footage, verifying utility-locate markings, or capturing a job photo) and, for companies that use fleet tracking, from GPS devices installed in company vehicles. Location is attached to work records so the work can be verified, mapped, and billed. You can decline the location permission on your device; some field-logging features will then record without coordinates.
Photos and camera. With your permission, the Services use your device camera to capture job-site photos (installed work, utility markings, vehicle inspections, damage documentation). Photos may be stamped with the date, time, and GPS coordinates where they were taken, because they serve as legal and billing documentation for construction work.
Work records. Information you enter while working — time entries, installed footage, materials, equipment inspections, notes, and reports.
Usage and device information. Log data, device type, and app activity, used to operate, secure, and improve the Services.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide the Services: work logging, scheduling, mapping, utility-ticket tracking, fleet management, reporting, and billing for your company;
- To create verifiable records of construction work, including location-stamped photos required for compliance and damage prevention;
- To process subscriptions and send service-related communications;
- To monitor, secure, and improve the Services.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising. The Services contain no ads.
3. Sharing of Information
Your work records, photos, and location data are visible to your employer (the company whose Bore-ON account you use) — that is the purpose of the Services. Beyond that, we share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf (for example, Google Firebase for hosting, storage, and authentication, and our payment processor for subscription billing), with integrations your company chooses to connect (for example, photo or accounting systems), or when required by law. Service providers may only use the information to perform services for us.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
Work records are retained for as long as your company's account is active, because they document constructed infrastructure and support legal and billing obligations. To request deletion of your account and associated personal information, email admin@bore-on.com or ask your company administrator. We will delete personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business records of completed construction work.
5. Data Security
Information is encrypted in transit, stored on access-controlled infrastructure, and protected by role-based permissions inside each company's account. We take reasonable measures to protect information from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You can update your information by logging into your account, and control the camera and location permissions in your device settings at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information — contact us and we will honor applicable requests.
7. Children
The Services are workplace tools for construction businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and notify account holders through the Services.
